37th Anniversary: Katsina Govt Rewards Outstanding Civil Servants With Cars, Cash Gifts

As part of its events to mark 37 years of its creation, Katsina State Government has allotted gifts of cash and cars to some outstanding civil servants in the state.
A messenger and watchman were among the fourteen civil servants who were honoured with gifts of cash and cars by the state governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda.
The governor, who paid tribute to the founding fathers of the state, assured the Katsina citizens that his government remained committed to seeing that the state developed to the wishes and aspirations of its forefathers.
“When the state was created, I was a student, and here I am now as its governor. We will, therefore, never let our forefathers down.”
Out of the fourteen civil servants, some were given N2 million each while four received cars.
One of the recipients, Bashir Aliyu Ruma, a messenger at the SGS office thanked the government for the gesture.
“I am a messenger at the SGS office, I have been working for 33 years. I come to work early and close late throughout this period. I have never been found wanting in my job. I thank the government for this recognition. I was given N2 million.”
Governor Dikko Umar Radda reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to improve the welfare of civil servants.
Radda said the government resolved to honour outstanding civil servants as motivation for better service for the state.
He called on the entire civil servant to cooperate with the government on the ongoing reform of the state civil service.
In his remark, the state Head of Service, Malam Falalu Bawale, thanked the government for introducing the award, noting that it will go a long way in encouraging the civil servant for better performance.
He said those honoured were selected from different ministries and Department by their supervising directors.
